Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap 2013 – Blog Hop

Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap is completed again for another year but lucky for us Kat Sloma (the amazing and talented organizer of the Liberate Your Art) has arranged for this wonderful Blog Hop so all the incredible Art sent around the world can be further liberated and shared. This is the second year I participated and I plan to keep going as long as the Swap does. I received six beautiful cards, five from Swap participants and one from Kat. Here they are:

Adorned and Alone by Kat Sloma

This lovely artwork is by the one and only Kat Sloma, who with an incredible group of volunteers, sorted and swapped 1290 pieces of art by 216 artists from 11 countries this year. Watch the video Kat put together here.

Here are the four pieces of my art that I liberated into the world (I sent out two of the ‘Found Love’ postcard):

I was happy to hear from two of the recipients of my cards, I hope the photographs and quotes brought a little happiness into everyone’s mailbox.

Please join in our blog hop to see all the amazing art and artists who set their art free and I think must have made some postal workers hearts a little happier and bags a little heavier.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! to Kat and each and every artist that participated. The world can always use more beauty!

Cheers! xx Sheila

  1. Love the cards you sent. This was my first year to participate and I am amazed by the variety of little treasures that arrived in my mail box! Looking forward to the swap in 2014!

    • Thank you Sherry! I admit I have a VERY soft spot for dogs and this little fellow just made my heart melt. He belonged to a surfer on the beach and was having the time of his life running back and forth the length of the beach. He came up to say hello and was so full of salt and sand….cutest guy ever!

    • It is a yearly event Lynda, it has been in August but moved to April this year. I will let you know for next time if you like, Kat has a wonderful Blog and newsletter to follow. I met her taking some online photography classes.

  2. Sheila, I adore that lion, all your work is wonderful, but I think that is my favorite!!! So AWESOME! Looks like you got some great postcards in the swap, it was so much fun and I cannot wait until next year!

    • Thank you Tammy! I took that photo at the Calgary Zoo this winter. Some birds were squawking outside his enclosure and his concentration was intense. Beautiful creature! I am looking forward to next year too!! xx

  3. All of these are beautiful. I was the lucky recipient of your ‘abandoned’ card and I absolutely adore it – thank you so much. Looking forward to next year. 🙂

    • I am so glad to hear that you received one of my cards and that you liked it :)! It travelled all the way to the UK, how wonderful! Thank you very much! I’m looking forward to next year already too! Cheers! Sheila xx

  4. Wow! I love your photos, especially the heart carved into the tree trunk. So cool that you have a pet photography biz too! That must be such a fun way to make a living!

    • Thank you! It was such an unexpected treasure finding that heart. I consider myself very lucky to be able to spend so much time with four legged creatures, they make my soul sing 🙂

  5. I LOVE the cards you sent. I haven’t seen them until now…perfectly gorgeous. There’s one you received I haven’t seen either…so glad I came to the blog hop to see ALL the art. Take care until next time!

  6. what incredibly fortunate people who received your photographs — they are beautiful. I remember seeing the one on Kat’s video. Cheers from another dog ‘person’ but here in Canada. (www.dianeschuller.com since the name link takes you to an old blog from over 10 yrs ago that hasn’t existed for years — don’t know how to update it so my apologies for leaving my web url)

  7. I love the wide selection of art you received, and I love the variety that you sent. I had done only the one image but for next (should Kat decide to do this again!) I just might do 5 that are all different…challenge myself just a little more

  8. I’m have no doubt your photographs and quotes brought a LOT of happiness into everyone’s mailbox. So great to have you in the swap this year!!

    • Thanks so much! Oh…you must have such a cute dog!! I have 4 Tibetan Terriers (one is a cross) so have such an affection for scruffy, shaggy dogs! I absolutely love your blog site too!

  11. I found you finally!! Some how the URL for your website kept telling me the website didn’t exist, managed to figure out it didn’t like the www at the beginning. Thank you so much for participating in the swap, I absolutely love the lion I received from you!
    Looking forward to next year!

  12. Sheila, you may get this twice… weird goings on here 😉 Love the great set of cards you received. Your b+w images are gorgeous – I think I saw “abandoned” and “watchful” as I was hopping… abandoned is my absolute fav.
